Flower Delivery in Sokolov

Sokolov lies at the confluence of the Ohře and Svatava rivers, in the middle of the Sokolov Basin. The town is about 18 km west of Karlovy Vary. Brown-coal mining and the industry associated with it shape the town's character.

The first written record of Sokolov, known as Falknov nad Ohří until 1948, dates from 13 April 1279. The Nostic family built the castle in the town centre in 1663 on the ruins of a castle destroyed by fire; it has housed the Sokolov Regional Museum since 2003. On the square called Staré náměstí stands the Roman Catholic deanery church of St James the Greater, with the Jubilee Fountain in front. Built between 1923 and 1925 to a design by Rudolf Wels, Hornický dům now houses Sokolov Municipal Theatre in the former Svět cinema.
