Rosice lies in the Boskovice Furrow, at the confluence of the Bobrava and Říčanský potok streams. The town is 16 km west of Brno.
Rosice was first mentioned in a charter dated 1259. The town was granted town status in 1907. Rosice Castle stands on a hill above the confluence and offers a castle exhibition, alongside exhibitions of toys and glass from Rosice.
