Neratovice lies in the Elbe Lowlands on the Elbe, around 20 kilometres north of Prague. The village was first mentioned in writing in 1227.

At the eastern edge of Lobkovice, a part of Neratovice, stands a chateau. Originally a fortified manor or small castle, it was rebuilt in the late 17th century. Neratovice became a town in 1957, seven years after the local chemical works became independent under the name Spolana.
