Boskovice lies on the edge of the Drahanská Highlands. The town is 14 km north of Blansko and 33 km north of Brno.
The historic centre of Boskovice, including the Jewish ghetto, has been an urban conservation area since 1990. A 13th-century castle stands above Boskovice. The town also has a chateau built between 1819 and 1826 and the Church of St James the Elder, dating from 1346.
